My Platform

I am running because I want to work for the people of Altoona and our neighboring communities.  I believe that the most important thing we can do is to improve conditions for the working class.  
LIST OF PRIORITIES

Investing in and supporting in the working class

  • Improved access to and support for child care

  • Paid parental leave

  • Increase the Minimum Wage

  • Tax corporations and billionaires to lower taxes for the working class

  • Keep our rural hospitals open

  • Fund our schools and prevent privatization of school systems

  • Fight against predatory lending and credit systems

  • Support relief for school loans and expansion of community college and trade school options

  • Promote Unions and worker class solidarity

Defending Democracy

  • Create fair districts and stop gerrymandering

  • Reform and remove corporate money from politics

  • Outlaw insider trading for ALL politicians​

  • ​Protect our elections from federal interference

Affordability

  • Stop data centers from raising energy costs

  • Prevent monopolization of healthcare

  • Prevent price gouging by Corporate Housing interests

  • Ensure rights for consumers to repair the things we buy

  • Prevent Algorithmic corporate price gouging

  • Prevent privatization of water and other public service​

Protecting Our Rights and Freedoms

  • Protect right to choose 

  • Legalize marijuana

  • Fight back against the attack on our civil rights by ICE

  • Removal of Civil Forfeiture laws

  • Promote and protect RESPONSIBLE gun ownership

Standing up for Our Veterans

  • Pass HB206 to exempt the spouses of active-duty service members from local income taxes.

  • Pass HB207, which would exempt the spouses of active-duty service members from state income taxes.

  • Pass HB1257 to exempt all 100% disabled veterans from property tax payments and guarantee benefits for the surviving spouses of eligible veterans.
